Growing up, we made pepperoni bites. We deep fried them. Today, I still like pepperoni bites but the thought of frying them up doesn’t sit with me. These delicious pretzel pepperoni bites are baked!!
You need about 1-1 1/2 inch ball of dough. Roll into a circle. Add cheese and pepperoni. Close up the dough around the cheese and pepperoni. Make sure when you close up the dough to close the seams. When boiling them the water can get in and make a sticky brown look.
Let the balls sit covered for 20 minutes to rise.
Bring 2 quarts of water and a 1/2 c of baking soda to a boil.
Boil each side of the pretzel bite for 30 seconds.
Drain on a towel and place on a cookie sheet. Egg wash the pretzel bites and add sea salt to the bites.
Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes at 425 degrees til the bites are a brown color.
Serve with some marinara sauce.
