Seafood Grilled Cheese

I love grilled cheese sandwiches. This is the only other type of grilled cheese sandwich I have tried so far. Wow, it is amazing. I have to say my favorite part of this grilled cheese is the garlic bread. It really ties the sandwich together. I never played around with grilled cheese sandwiches much before. The classic american cheese grilled is and will always be my favorite, but I planning on trying out different styles.

Seafood Grilled Cheese

Shrimp and crab grilled cheese on garlic bread

Prep Time 20 minutes
Cook Time 20 minutes
Total Time 40 minutes
Servings 4 people
Calories 500 kcal

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Shrimp
  • 1/2 lb Crab meat imitation can be substituted
  • 1 tsp Olive oil
  • 2 tsp Italian Seasoning
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 3 Tbs Butter
  • 8 slices Bread
  • 8 slices Provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Add olive oil to skillet over medium heat. Cook shrimp for 2 minutes before adding crab meat. Add Italian seasoning. Stir well. Cook until shrimp if completely cooked. Remove from heat.

    Place butter and garlic in a small pot and heat over medium heat until butter is melted. Remove from heat.

    Take slices of bread line them with a slice of provolone cheese each. 

    Scoop a fourth of the meat mixture and place on a slice of bread. Top that with another slice of bread. Repeat until 4 sandwiches are made. 

    Butter the top pieces of bread with garlic butter. Place in a skillet over medium heat butter sided down. Butter the other slice of bread. When the bottom bread is golden brown flip and cook the other side. Cook all four sandwiches and enjoy!

This is my version of this grilled cheese sandwich. I had this sandwich at a friend’s house and really enjoyed it. I came up with this recipe when I remade it for my family. They loved it too!
